TAIPEI, Taiwan – 25 Nov. 2010 — Artila Electronics, the leading designer and manufacturer of Linux-ready ARM9 industrial PC, introduces Matrix-518 industrial Linux-ready ARM9 Box Computer equipped with 400MHZ/MMU ATMEL AT91SAM9G20 ARM Thumb Processor, which increases Matrix-518 system performance yet lowers the power consumption at least half compared to 180MHz ATMEL AT91RM9200, which is embedded in Artila’s first generation of industrial box computers.
By using 400MHZ/MMU ATMEL AT91SAM9G20 ARM9 processor, and carrying 64MB SDRAM, 128MB NAND Flash, and 2MB DataFlash, Matrix-518 industrial Linux-ready box computer brings high system performance for industrial automation applications. In addition to enhanced computing ability, Matrix-518’s power consumption is lower than 3W in full-power mode. Combining the above-mentioned advantages, Matrix-518 is ideal for applications requiring high performance yet constrained power consumption, such as security cameras, building automation, barcode readers, and point-of-sales terminals.
Moreover, the DataFlash includes a backup Linux file system which will automatically boot up Matrix-518 in case the primary NAND Flash fails. The failure-proof and redundant booting design makes Matrix-518 an ideal platform for many mission-critical applications.
